History

MIRBUD S.A. is one of the largest construction companies in Poland. The Company has been working on its image since 1988. It was then that the current main shareholder, Jerzy Mirgos, started his business activity in the construction industry. Experience gained over the years has contributed to building a strong company with professional staff and modern technical facilities.

Today, MIRBUD S.A. is one of the largest construction companies in Poland, the annual revenues of the MIRBUD Capital Group exceed PLN 1 billion. The Company is one of the few and the only fully Polish company of this size in the industry.

The following are some of the key dates from the Company’s life that have become milestones in its development.

 

In 2004, there was an increase in revenues and the Company’s activity was extended to include transport services and rental of equipment. The sustainable development of the Company and its growing reputation made MIRBUD a significant contractor for road works both in the local and national market.

MIRBUD successively expanded its portfolio by adding to a long list of prestigious projects the construction of shopping and logistics centres. In 2005, MIRBUD recorded a more than threefold increase in revenues from the sale of construction services. The Company confirmed its professionalism by building a shopping and logistics centre in Wólka Kosowska with an area of over 40,000 m2.

In 2005, the Company’s activity was appreciated - MIRBUD received a certificate for the Management System according to EN ISO 9001:2000 issued by TUV CERT.

In 2006, the implementation of property development plans commenced. MIRBUD purchased land for the purpose of constructing residential, single-family and multi-family buildings. A broad profile of activity, enabling diversification of revenues and their stable growth, contributed to the development of the Company, strengthening its position in the market of installation and construction, road and property development works.

In view of a further improvement of financial results and broad development plans concerning the introduction of MIRBUD to the Warsaw Stock Exchange, the Company’s management made a decision on changing the ownership form. Since October 2006, MIRBUD has been a joint stock company.

In the same year, MIRBUD S.A. appeared for the first time in the Gazele Biznesu (Business Gazelles) ranking. The Company receives a prestigious title awarded by the “Puls Biznesu” daily, thus confirming its membership in the elite group of the most dynamically developing companies.

 

In 2007, MIRBUD S.A. recorded a 100% increase in revenues, doubling the current financial result. It implements the plans concerning the property development activity of the Company. The dynamic development of the construction services sector results, among others, in the construction of an office and production complex for PCO in Warsaw, a hot dip galvanising plant in Rawa Mazowiecka for FAM, a logistics service hall in Wólka Kosowska for GDII Polska, a sports hall in Mława and the extension of a department store in Łódź for Black Red White.

The Company also prepared for its debut on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

The plans to change the Company’s registered office are also significant - in 2007, a foundation stone-laying ceremony took place in the new registered office located at ul. Unii Europejskiej 18 in Skierniewice.

The activity of MIRBUD S.A.  was appreciated once again - the “Puls Biznesu” daily awarded the Company for the second year in a row with the title of Gazele Biznesu (Business Gazelles) in the category of the most dynamically developing companies.

 

In 2008, despite the ongoing economic crisis in the financial markets, MIRBUD S.A. was implementing the adopted development strategy, while increasing its revenues. It started to perform one of the largest contracts in the history of its activity - expansion of the “Maximus” shopping centre in Nadarzyn for Sybilgroup. In addition, among the commenced projects under the name of MIRBUD S.A., the following are noteworthy: the construction of a warehouse hall with office space in Skierniewice for VOG Polska and a shopping and office centre in Jabłonowo, reconstruction of a logistics hall in Wólka Kosowska for GD Poland, expansion of the KONGSKILDE factory in Kutno and the construction of a crossroads within national road No. 14 in Łowicz.

In mid-2008, investment tasks in the field of housing construction in the developer system were taken over by a subsidiary - JHM DEVELOPMENT Sp. z o.o., whose separation from the structures of MIRBUD S.A. was a response to the needs of the dynamically developing real estate market.

Diversification of activities became a guarantee of stability of the Capital Group established with MIRBUD S.A. as the parent company.
On 29 December 2008, MIRBUD S.A. made its debut on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The stock exchange debut crowned the 20th anniversary of the Company’s activity.

 

Almost 15 years of experience allowed MIRBUD to start performing contracts exclusively as a General Contractor in 2002. The Company implemented more and more projects in the field of industrial and residential construction, related, among others, to the construction of sports halls, commercial facilities or road works.

MIRBUD S.A. added the extension of the “Maximus” Shopping Centre, worth over PLN 100 million* to the list of completed contracts.
The Company’s activity was once again noticed by local and economic circles. In 2009, MIRBUD S.A. was awarded the title of Honorary Ambassador of Skierniewice. The award was granted due to the dynamic development of the Company, which as one of the largest employers in the region promotes the town in Poland and is a guarantee of stable employment.

 

In 2010, MIRBUD S.A. signed further prestigious contracts. The Company built a showroom and service station for Mercedes-Benz cars in Stryków worth over PLN 59 million, a Production and Film Centre for ATM Studio in Warsaw worth over PLN 45 million, and concluded an agreement for almost PLN 54.5 million relating to a Science Centre for the University of Warsaw.  It also conducted works as the Consortium leader at the Ełk bypass whose cost amounted to PLN 128.8 million.

The successive development of the Company was emphasised by the ceremonial opening of the new registered office of MIRBUD S.A.
In 2010, a subsidiary of JHM DEVELOPMENT Sp. z o.o. joined the MIRBUD Group - Marywilska 44 Sp. z o.o., which is the owner and manager of the largest complex of trade fair halls within the capital city of Warsaw.

The MIRBUD Group was also expanded by Przedsiębiorstwo Budowy Dróg i Mostów Sp. z o.o. from Kobylarnia, specialising in road works and production of bituminous masses.

At the end of 2010, JHM DEVLOPMENT Sp. z o.o. was transformed into a joint-stock company.

MIRBUD S.A. was one of the fastest growing Polish companies in terms of market value and was awarded the Forbes Diamond.

 

MIRBUD S.A. started 2011 with signing a contract for the construction of the Nanotechnology Centre for the Gdańsk University of Technology. It also started the comprehensive construction of an exhibition and fair hall worth PLN 45 million for the needs of the International Lublin Fair. In addition, it concluded a contract for the construction of the Bawełnianka Shopping Centre in Bełchatów, whose annexed value amounted to over PLN 108 million.

A few months later, it signed an agreement worth over PLN 79 million concerning the construction of the Arena Fair and Conference Centre for Warmia and Mazury in Ostróda.

MIBRUD S.A. also added the construction of a construction market for Bricoman Polska to the list of completed projects.

The Company also commenced the implementation of the most prestigious project by expanding its portfolio with the construction of a Double Tree by Hilton hotel belonging to Hilton Worldwide. As a result of the contract with a value of PLN 184.5 million, one of the largest congress and conference centres in Poland was constructed in Warsaw.

Przedsiębiorstwo Budowy Dróg i Mostów Sp. z o.o. from Kobylarnia was transformed into a joint-stock company.

The activity of MIRBUD S.A., its financial results and professionalism, were noticed once again by opinion leaders. For the second year in a row, the Company was awarded the Forbes Diamond. It was also ranked third in the Łódzkie Voivodeship in the Pillars of the Polish Economy 2011 ranking - the classification of large companies playing a significant role in their region.

 

The calendar of MIRBUD S.A. works for 2012 included, among others, the implementation of three projects with a total value of almost PLN 64 million - a retail and service facility Media Markt Gdynia Pustki Cisowskie, Galeria Mistrza Jana in Węgrów and a warehouse and office building in Mysłowice-Brzezinka, commissioned by Como DEVELOPMENT 7.

MIRBUD S.A. also became a contractor for a project worth over 71 million PLN as part of the construction of the Shopping and Service Centre including HOME and GARDEN facilities in Chojnice.

A subsidiary belonging to the MIRBUD Group - Przedsiębiorstwo Budowy Dróg i Mostów KOBYLARNIA S.A. signed an agreement worth PLN 35 million concerning the reconstruction of voivodeship road No. 203 in the Iwięcino - Darłowo section (stage I - Iwięcino - Dąbki).
The Company also concluded contracts for a total amount of PLN 45 million for the construction of a shopping hall in the commune of Lesznowola and a Shopping Centre as part of the construction of the Retail Park in Grudziądz.

The Company was included in the “Rzeczpospolita” ranking - Lista 500 (the 500 List) and received the main prize in the “Trade, Services, Infrastructure” category - the Rzeczpospolita Eagle Award. Apart from MIRBUD S.A., this honourable distinction was awarded to only two other Polish companies.

For the third year in a row, MIRBUD S.A. was awarded the Forbes Diamond in the category of companies with revenues exceeding PLN 250 million in the Łódzkie Voivodeship.

 

The MIRBUD Capital Group closed the year 2018 with revenue of PLN 1,143,128 thousand (approx. EUR 272,173 thousand). This was the highest ever revenue of the Group being placed higher and higher in the Deloitte Ranking of the 15 largest construction companies in Poland.
